T.J. Norfleet Dies at St. John's Hospital
Was Injured Last Fall in a Runaway and
Complications Which Set In Cause His Demise
T.J. Norfleet of 850 North First street died at St. John's hospital at 11:20 o'clock yesterday morning from a complication of diseases following injuries received on Saturday, Nov. 28 , when he was run over by a wagon.
Mr. Norfleet was employed by  the Peter Vredenburgh Lumber company and was taking a load of lumber to Rochester. When a short distance out of the city on the Clear Lake road the horses he was driving became frightened, and as the road was very rough at that point the front wheels were given a sudden jerk. As Mr. Norfleet was sitting sidewise on the load he was precipitated to the ground and both of the front and rear wheels ran over his left leg, fracturing the member near the knee.
Was Improving at First.
The victim was immediately brought to St. John's hospital, and for a time it was thought he would speedily recover, and not amputation was made. Later, however, complications set in and for the past two weeks Mr. Norfleet was for the greater part of the time unconscious.
The deceased was born in Clarkville [sic], Tenn., and at the time of his death was 43 years of age. He came to this city about eighteen years ago and has since resided here. He has been employed by the Vredenburgh Lumber company for the past five years. He was a member of Guiding Star Court No. 251, Tribe of Ben Hur.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Norfleet; three sons, Herbert. Lloyd and Jean Norfleet; three daughters, Mrs. George Brady, Mrs. John Sheehan and Miss Jessie Norfleet, all of this city; six brothers, James M. of Centralia; E.E. of Houston, Texas; A.S. of St. Louis; B.F. of Lexington, Ky.: S.B. of Muskogee, Okla., and T.M. of this city; also by three sisters, Mrs. Emma Boggs of Centralia, Mrs. L.I. Richardson of Muskogee and Mrs. Beulah Stuart of Centralia.
The remains were taken to the undertaking parlors of Charles T. Bisch & Son and were later removed to the residence, where the funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. The funeral will be private and will be in charge of the Tribe of Ben Hur.
