Pedro Ygnacio Espinosa and Juana Gertrudis Gonzales were married by 1781, possibly earlier. The couple lived in near Santa Cruz de la Canada. Juana Gertrudis Gonzales was deceased by 1802. By 1800 Pedro Ygnacio Espinosa was living in Chimayo. In 1807 he may have fathered a child by Maria Concepcion Romero, a widow. By 1822 Pedro was a resident of San Francisco del Rancho.

Juana Gertrudis Gonzales was deceased by 1802 when she is mentioned as such in the marriage record of her daughter Maria Luz Espinosa. She may have been deceased as early as 1800 when Pedro Ygnacio Espinosa acts as a godfather without her:
