Suicide in Kershaw County
Mr. Harvey Kelly, of Westville,
Blows Out His Brains while Under Temporary Aberration of the Mind
Mr. Harvey Kelly, who lived at
Westville, committed suicide a few days ago by shooting himself. He slipped a
gun out of the house where he was staying, went off some distance, placed the
muzzle to his temple and discharged the gun with a yardstick. The wound was a
ghastly one. When found the yardstick was clinched in his hand, which indicated
that he must have discharged the gun with it. For about two years his health
had been bad, his mind at time wandering.
